The Stone Sarcophagus

Attached to the wall of the south transept, beneath the millennium window, is a medieval stone sarcophagus. Popular legend describes this as a crusader's coffin, but it is more likely to be the last resting place of a rich parishioner. It was found when the nave was relaid during the 19th century "improvements" to the church.
